What CASA Volunteers do.
- Talk to the child/ren, explaining the process of the court system and the roles of the players.
- Talk with family and other people knowledgeable about the child/ren’s history.
- Review records and provide judges with thorough reports that make recommendations to the court on the child/ren’s best interests and placement.
- Encourage child/ren to express hopes and opinions about their case and their preferred outcome.
- Monitor court ordered services.
What are the requirements to be a CASA Volunteer?
- Must be at least 21 of age
- Must be able to pass a background and reference check
- Sign the Pledge of Confidentiality
- Commit to at least one year of service and complete the 30 hour pre-service training

Having a CASA volunteer means having at your side a trained and committed adult that is appointed by a judge to advocate for your best interests. To make sure you don't get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system.
